It has to be one of the worst feelings ever. Fortunately for most of us, this is a rare occurrence in our lives.

But, how would you feel if this was your reality every day?

Worse still, how would you feel if you, as a parent, could no longer afford any meal at all and were forced to watch your children go to bed hungry on a daily basis?

How would you feel if your only source suddenly went away and you had not even an ounce of savings in your bank account?

We ask this because in Africa, especially in the East and South, over 66 MILLION people go through these exact situations every day.

Here’s what’s happening:

Africa houses some of the poorest economies in the world today by per capita income, and the ones who are suffering the most from this reality are the people in rural areas of the region.

In these rural places, you will find tribal areas where people live in mud huts and are chained in ruthless shackles of poverty.

As these people continue to feel their strength drain out of their bodies, the struggle to survive becomes harder every passing second…

Knowing this is happening on our watch, should we — as fellow Muslims and humans — just stand by and do nothing?

Did You Know?

There’s a lot going wrong in the world right now. And one of the most prominent of these “wrongs” is the fact that MILLIONS of people go to bed hungry every day.

Sadly, a large portion of the victims of this crisis live in East & South Africa.

In fact,

❌️ Over 66 million people are food insecure in the region

❌️ 40.2% of the population in Eastern & Southern Africa was undernourished in 2022

❌️ More than two-thirds of the population in Central Africa, Eastern Africa and Western Africa does not have access to adequate food…

A basic meal in the region costs no less than $6.

Can you imagine how entire families would be getting through on less than $0.96 a day?

According to the World Health Organization, not having proper nutrition means…

➡️ Deteriorated infant, child, and maternal health

➡️ Weakened immune system

➡️ Unsafe pregnancies and childbirth,

➡️ Higher risk of non-communicable diseases (such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease)

➡️ Low life expectancy

➡️ High rates of malnutrition

➡️ Poor productivity, weakened learning capacity, loss of living opportunities

In other words, an entire nation is helpless & being destroyed at the hands of hunger and poverty!

But…

Not All Hope is Lost!

The first step to solving any problem is to identify what’s causing it.

And we have already successfully completed the first step:

The rural communities of the region are unable to lead normal lives because of hunger and poverty.

If we help solve their hunger crisis, we can enable them to regain their strength and overcome poverty.

So, while there is effort, there is hope!

We believe that even a single nutritious meal served in one of these communities can make a huge difference. That’s why the Global Aid Family is now on a mission to distribute fulfilling and nutritious meals to at least a 1,000 people in Africa’s communities around Lake Victoria.

Each meal we provide costs as little as $4 and include:

We have compiled this package with special consideration for nutrition, to ensure that each meal served is not only wholesome, but able to sustain and offer nourishment to the individual who consumes it.

With the help of our generous donor family, we have managed to distribute meals so far, with our teams working day and night on-the-ground. However, in order to keep going and reach each and every soul who needs our help within these communities, we need your ongoing support.
